This brand has been my latest obsession. I hadn’t been able to go to the beach for four years as I was going back in forth to Ireland and all that jazz, if you have followed me for a while you know the whole story already. Long story short, I was unable to go to the beach for loads of years so this summer when I was finally able to enjoy the sun and the good weather… let’s just say I went a bit crazy and overboard with my bikini purchases.

I discovered the brand through a friend, she had been following it for a while but never really bought anything from them. We decided to change that and give it a try. They are a Barcelona-based brand so we thought that with all the Covid situation, it would be better to buy from a local brand than from a multinational that may not need the money as much.

Who are they? Just so you know a bit more about Bohodot, it is a family brand that started back in 2012 and they bet on working with local providers to improve the local economy. They mostly sell feminine swimwear although they have added a kids section not too long ago. All their products are made in Spain and they are really conscious about the environment, that is why they all their pieces are sustainable.

What does that mean that the pieces are sustainable you may be wondering? Well, they work with fabrics that have the OEKO TEX STANDARD 100 certificate, which means they guarantee the responsible use of chemical products during the fabric production. Around 50% of the products are made out of recycled nylon from things such as bottles, fishing nets… that are found in the Mediterranean sea.

This is what their website looks like, if you want to visit it make sure to click the image and you will get to it straight away.

One of the things I love about the brand is that they sell the tops and bottoms separately. I personally struggle to find bikinis because I have different sizes on my upper and lower body so when I have the options to choose the different sizes, it is a relief. Also! They have loads of different style of tops and bottoms for every design. Some people like the triangle tops, others the scoops and others may like the strapless one so you do get different options for whatever suits your body best. They also have the same option with the bottoms. I feel like this is one of the things that made me fall in love with them, the fact that I could choose so many things and I was not restricted to one option.

The swimsuits are just perfect, but I never really need one living in Ireland. I usually stick to my wetsuit 😹
