I have always been a morning person but ever since I started working full time it has got a little harder for me getting up earlier when I know my days off are the only days I can lay in. Now, with currently being stuck at home, it is important we all create little routine to not go insane. I have been creating a little routine, super easy to follow, nothing crazy hard to maintain. Here are my 5 morning steps in order to get me up early and ready for another day!

Do not hit the snooze. getting up is extremely hard, we all know that. You may have had a bad night, went to sleep pretty late… so getting up early definitely won’t be on your priorities that day. But it is way better to just get up when the alarm goes off, otherwise it gets harder every time the alarm goes off again and you keep pressing snooze.

Forget your phone. I have found myself waking up really early and feeling really proud of myself, not getting out of bed and already looking through my phone. Scrolling through Instagram, reading the news or watching some YouTube videos, when I finally look at the time again it is 12 pm. To try and avoid that, get up first, take a shower, then look at your phone, that way, you are already out of bed.

Write a to do list. I always like to write down all the things I want to accomplish that day. It just gives me something to look forward to on the day and have some objectives. They do not need to be the hardest goals ever, just little things like grocery shopping, go for a walk, meet up with a friend… Simple things that can really make your day.

Exercise. Exercising in the morning definitely makes you start the day with the right mindset. For people like me that work full time, if you do exercise, usually it is after work. On my days off though, I try to do it in the morning to jump start my day. It really helps with my motivations, energy levels and creating the right mindset.

Good breakfast. I feel like this is the point I have to really work on. Most days I do not eat breakfast when I get out of the house but it is extremely important. Having a nutritious breakfast will get you all the energy you need to face the day. So make sure you have a nice breakfast before starting your day, you will certainly feel better.
