Although we are still in August and it’s technically summer, autumn is right around the corner, less than a month away, so I have decided to share with you the trends I am the most excited about for this new season. I absolutely love autumn because it starts getting cold so you can start wearing cute jackets or jumpers, maybe a nice hat or scarf as an accessory… I have always been a fan of in between seasons like autumn and spring as they are not the extreme cold or hot temperatures and they are great to play around with clothes.
The first trend I want to start talking about is checked prints. They were already in trend last year and lucky for us we will see more of it this year! I love a good checked trousers or jacket, they make yo look so smart and put together without trying too much. Last year I played it safe with just trousers but this year I am feeling way more confident and open on trying new things so I might go and get myself a checked jacket and a skirt!
Red and mustard are two colors that were also already in trend last year and I absolutely love them for autumn. It gives me such autumn vibes as you relate this colors to the changing leafs and I think these two colors look pretty good with almost every skin color which is a win-win situation.
All about being extra, sequence, extreme designs and colors… this year is all about being out there, a lot of designers have decided to go for this styles and I am here rooting for it. I am excited to see more textures included in fall and winter as usually it’s more of leathers, furs, fluffiness… and this year is all about being bright and different.
A trend that I am excited but scared at the same time are the animal prints. I have never in my life worn animal print because I just feel like it doesn’t suit me, but the prints were everywhere in the runways so it is obvious there will be a lot of it this year. I am looking forward to trying something new and see if I can pull of the animal print. This year will be the year of new fashion experiences for me I guess.
And the last trend I am really looking forward is silk. It is an unexpected texture for fall and winter but I think it is absolutely gorgeous. The print on print style is also trending this year, and after seeing what some designers like Moschino, Céline and Gucci have done, I am really excited for it.
